Frequently Asked Questions

Nothing at all actually.  The High Yield Cash Account has all of the traditional functionality of a checking account, such as simple transfers to and from other banks, bill pay, a debit card with ATM access, mobile check deposit, and more.  Essentially, it's a checking account with the high yields you've come to expect from a high yield savings or money market account.

The biggest difference is that we don't try to confuse you with multiple types of accounts with different fees, yields and stipulations.

There is no minimum to open the account, but you need to maintain an average minimum balance of $5,000 in order to avoid a monthly fee.

All Battle Bank High Yield Cash Accounts receive industry-standard FDIC insurance of up to $250,000 per account holder (joint accounts are insured up to $500,000). For more information on FDIC insurance coverage, please visit fdic.gov.

Opening an account is quick and easy. All we need are a few pieces of information such as name, home address, and Social Security number. In some cases, we may need additional documentation like a copy of your driver’s license and/or a current photo ID to verify your identity.

Battle Bank will never charge you a fee for using an ATM.  However, if you are charged an ATM fee by the ATM itself, rest assured Battle Bank will reimburse any ATM fees up to $30 at the end of each statement cycle.

We use the average daily balance method to calculate interest on your account. This method applies a periodic rate to the average daily balance in the account for the period. The average daily balance is calculated by adding the principal in the account for each day of the period and dividing that figure by the number of days in the period.

You can rest assured that you always have access to cash through any ATM. If the ATM provider charges you a fee for using their ATM, we will refund any ATM fees up to $30 per month at the end of each statement cycle.

No. We don't accept cash deposits. If you are someone that has cash on hand and needs to put it in the bank, we suggest keeping a checking account with a local bank and depositing the cash at their branch. Then, you can go to our online banking portal, transfer those funds to your High Yield Cash Account and enjoy one of the highest yields on all of your account balances.

If you requested a debit card and/or your first order of checks, they would usually arrive in the mail within 10 business days after your account has been opened. If you need additional sets of checks, we recommend ordering through a reputable online check ordering service.

You can access your account, make payments, or move money 24/7 from your home or on the go through our mobile app.

Other ways to access your funds is the same way you have historically:

  • Transfer funds electronically to and from Battle Bank to any other financial institution
  • Use a debit card for purchases or get cashback where you shop using your PIN
  • Get cash from any ATM (if the ATM charges you a fee, we will reimburse up to $30 a month at the end of each statement cycle)
  • Submit a wire transfer request online
  • Make payments using online bill pay
  • Checks can be ordered through the online banking portal (first order of checks is on us, but does anyone use a checkbook anymore?)
  • Request an official check
